      News Flash!

      Model: Emily Bell
      MUA: Morgan Watt
Hello loyal readers! Unfortunately, I will no longer have my beloved job at the local candle store because Wik Candle is closing. This has been a very sad experience, but I am doing my best to use this as an opportunity to follow my dreams. In recent weeks, a new (and dear) friend of mine, a stylist at Toni and Guy has introduced me to the world of freelance makeup artistry and to photographer, Kelsey Newkham of Kelsey Elizabeth Portraits.

I have done makeup for a few photo shoots with Kelsey and it has been a dream come true! I have learned so much already and I look forward to researching and learning more about styling hair, as well. So, I am here to tell you all that I am teaming up with her to do makeup and hair for anyone requesting a stylist for their photo shoot. To check out her portfolio and schedule your two-hour shoot with me as the stylist go to http://kelseyelizabethportraits.com/ !!

If you schedule your photo shoot through Kelsey's website by June 22nd and mention Making Up Morgan you'll get 20% off your session!

      Precious Cargo

I have never been a fan of all-over foundation. It is so easy to choose the wrong color and since skin slightly changes its color, tone and texture day-to-day, all-over color rarely looks natural. Since I avoid foundation, I have to be very picky about my concealer. So, I am always searching for a new concealer that is better than my last. I look for a concealer that will easily cover anything and stay put without looking cake-y or feeling too heavy on my face. Believe it or not, I have quite a bit to cover. I have bags and dark circles under my eyes, scars, sun damage, uneven skin tone, blemishes and the list goes on. If I work up the courage, maybe one day I'll post before and after pictures of me.. maybe. But, no one would ever know my bad skin secrets by looking at me. So, you can trust me when I say that this stuff works! Cargo One Base covers all of my bad skin woes and leaves me looking fresh, dewy, and flawless because it is a foundation and a concealer in one. I use 02 - fair with pink undertones. It comes in a very convenient tube and I love it!

Tip:>> Re-evaluate the color of your make-up every few months to keep your face looking fresh and natural!

      Total Lush

Guilty! I am here to reveal my new-found obsession with Lush Cosmetics! What did you think I was talking about?
These fresh handmade cosmetics are truly an amazing find. This company believes in "making effective products from fresh, organic fruits and vegetables, the finest essential oils and safe synthetics." With all this hype over natural, environmentally friendly, and safe cosmetics these days who wouldn't be interested in what this fine company has to offer? Here are a few items I have tried so far...
The Each Peach Massage Bar is absolutely brilliant. At first glance I thought it was a simple bar of soap, but it heats up at the touch of your skin and turns into a silky luxurious lotion with a fruity, fresh scent! To keep your lotion at a "solid" temperature until you are ready to use it, you should get a Massage Bar Tin for storage. When you are ready to buy a new massage bar, you can bring in your tin and re-fill it! ..Or use the tin for other fun things like holding jewelry or gift giving.. So many ideas!

I also tried the Dark Angels Cleanser, which has totally transformed my skin. It gives my skin everything it needs to look radiant and blemish-free. This tough facial cleaner is made with charcoal to absorb oils and exfoliate your skin, nutritious avocado oil to soften, glycerin to keep the moisture in and black sugar to scrub away dead skin. It is very messy, so I usually use it in the shower. Warning: the Dark Angels Cleanser can easily scare boyfriends, mothers, roommates, etc. who may walk in on your scrubbing endeavors. So, scrub with caution.

Changing your shampoo is a good habit to have. Your hair adapts to the weather and the products you use, which can leave your hair looking dull and lifeless. I change my shampoo all the time! Sometimes three times a week. Is that normal? Anyways, If you need a shampoo switch and are bored of the same bottle after bottle, I have found your new best friend. Two words: Shampoo. Bar. Having one of these while traveling is a MUST.
Lush has an assortment of shampoos to fit your specific hair needs, all with the same convenience as a bar of soap. I  unfortunately have the lifelong gift of oily locks, so I opted for the Squeaky Green. It is made with rosemary, nettle, and peppermint to deep clean your hair and beat any flakiness in your scalp. It also smells great! Store your bar in a cool, dry place like in a Shampoo Bar Tin

Walking into the Lush section of Macy's was like walking into a candy store, and not just because I crave cosmetics like most people crave sweets. Everything is designed to look unique, colorful, and apparently edible. Lush is such a unique brand that is dedicated to natural, safe cosmetics. They have so much to offer. Find your local Lush store and see for yourself!

Tip:>> For best results, use the Dark Angels Cleanser once a week and make sure to moisturize right after!

      Thanks for stopping by!

      Biting blues

Hello everyone! I sincerely apologize for my long absence. I started this blog with the intention of sharing my knowledge and love for cosmetics with whom ever would have me, but the end of 2010 was very difficult for me. My grandfather passed away in October and I lost track of things for a few months, but I am back and stronger than ever! So, I know it's a little late for New Years' resolutions, but better late than never! My resolutions are to continue blogging and finally stop biting my nails! I know, it's disturbing that a 22 year-old could possibly have this absurd and disgusting habit. I find it funny that while my friends are concentrating on kicking their smoking habits, I am working on quitting the life long, childish vice of having my fingers in my mouth.

The thing that has really helped me stop the biting is keeping my nails short, filed and painted. There was no way I was going to the nail salon with the nubs I had. So, I decided to pull off a little "do it yourself". I bought a cheap nail kit at CVS and started my journey! Since I knew my nails were too short for any drastic colors, I started with OPI just tea-sing. I love this color because it is light enough for shorter nails, but is still noticeable. If you like bright colors or are just looking for a polish change for spring, check out the Sephora by OPI GLEE Collection!

In an attempt to heal my cuticles I bought some Vaseline healthy hands and nails lotion. It is designed specifically for hands and nails. It soaks into your skin quickly and lasts all day. It even strengthens your nails so they can grow long, healthy, and beautiful! It keeps me from biting because let's face it, who wants lotion in their mouth? I bought a small tube to keep in my purse for easy use throughout the day. Great buy!

      >>Tip: If you're like me and always seem to smudge your freshly painted nails, paint one hand first and let it dry before painting the other. This gives you a free hand for the inconvenient random itchiness everyone seems to get when they are unable to scratch!

      Thanks for reading!
